๐Ÿง  About the Project

Healthcare professionals often donโ€™t receive enough training on how to respond when someone discloses abuse or violence. We're working to change that โ€” and we need your help.

We are speaking with adult survivors to understand:

  • What it was like to talk (or not talk) about abuse in healthcare settings

  • What helped โ€” or didnโ€™t help โ€” in those moments

  • What healthcare providers should know and do differently

๐Ÿ™‹ Who Can Participate?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 18 years or older

  • Have experienced sexual or domestic violence at any point in your life

  • Are comfortable sharing your experience in a private, respectful conversation

You do not need to have reported the abuse or sought services to participate.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ What You Can Expect

  • A confidential interview (about 30โ€“60 minutes)

  • Done in a way that works for you โ€” by phone, online, or in person

  • You can skip any question or stop at any time

  • Youโ€™ll receive a $50 gift card as a thank you for your time

Our team uses a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach. Your comfort, choice, and privacy are our top priorities.

๐Ÿ” Your Safety and Privacy

  • Your information will be kept confidential

  • Your name or identifying details will not appear in any reports

  • Interviews are conducted by trained professionals who understand trauma and will treat you with care and respect

๐Ÿ’ก Why Participate?

Your story can help:

  • Create more compassionate healthcare systems

  • Train doctors, nurses, and mental health providers

  • Reduce stigma and improve survivor support
